Your daily SPF essential
Skincare meets sun protection
Developed to feel like a light and comfortable face cream, with a silky smooth texture that melts into the skin while providing high, broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Absorbs quickly without leaving a white cast on the skin.
A new generation of mineral-based SPF developed to protect the skin from sun damage, premature aging, and external aggressors – while being gentle on sensitive skin.
Clinical trial
Dermatologically tested for sensitive skin
Our mineral sunscreen is dermatologically tested and showed excellent tolerance throughout the test period. No test subjects experienced clinical signs of irritation or discomfort and gave the product a positive rating.*
With 100% mineral-based UV filters that remain on the skin's surface without being absorbed, the sunscreen is especially suitable for sensitive skin. It also provides high UVA protection with PA+++ (SPF 30) and PA++++ (SPF 50), the highest rating on the Japanese PA scale for UVA protection.
*Based on a 7-day user study with 23 test subjects with self-reported sensitive facial skin.

FAQ
Can the sunscreens be used on children?
Both of our sunscreens have been tested and approved for use on children aged 3 years and older.
As we only use 100% mineral-based UV filters and no chemical filters, our sunscreens are particularly well-suited for sensitive skin – including children's.
For children under 3 years old, it is generally recommended to avoid direct sun exposure, in line with current sun safety guidelines.
What is the difference between mineral and chemical sunscreen?
Our sunscreens exclusively use 100% mineral-based UV filters from zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
Mineral filters sit on the skin's surface and reflect UV rays away from the skin, while chemical filters absorb UV rays before they are converted in the skin. Therefore, mineral-based sunscreen is often perceived as a gentler alternative – especially for sensitive skin.
Mineral-based SPF is also a popular choice for those who want sun protection without chemical UV filters, combined with skin-conditioning ingredients and high broad-spectrum protection.
What is the difference between UVA and UVB?
UVB rays are the shorter UV rays that primarily cause sunburn, and are one of the main causes of skin cancer. UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin and can contribute to premature aging, wrinkles, and pigment spots. UVA is present all year round, even through clouds and windows.
Both of our sunscreens provide broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. The SPF value indicates protection against UVB, while the PA scale indicates the degree of UVA protection. The scale ranges from PA+ to PA++++, where PA++++ is the highest degree of UVA protection.
Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 has PA+++ and Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 has PA++++ for very high UVA protection. Both products also have the UVA circle symbol, which confirms that the UVA protection meets EU requirements for broad-spectrum sun protection.
Is the sunscreen water-resistant?
We have consciously chosen to exclude certain chemical ingredients often used to achieve regulatory water resistance, as these are not compatible with our ingredient standards.
SPF 30 Body, on the other hand, is an anhydrous, oil-based formula that naturally withstands water and sweat better than a water-based sunscreen. It therefore feels more water-repellent on the skin.
SPF 50 Face is a water-based formula developed specifically for the face, with a light and pleasant finish, and therefore does not have the same natural resistance to water.
For both sunscreens, we recommend re-applying after swimming, heavy sweating, or towel drying.
Does the sunscreen leave a white cast on the skin?
Our sunscreens are 100% mineral-based and formulated with nano-sized mineral filters, which significantly reduce white cast compared to traditional mineral sunscreen.
For best results, we recommend applying a small amount at a time, spreading evenly, and allowing the cream to set for a couple of minutes. SPF 50 Face is specially developed for the face and has a light satin finish that blends beautifully into the skin without feeling greasy. It also works well under makeup.
Why does Elm Organics use nano-sized mineral filters?
We use zinc oxide and titanium dioxide – the two approved mineral filters that provide effective and broad-spectrum protection against both UVB and UVA rays.
The mineral filters are used in nano-size to provide optimal protection with a lighter and more transparent finish on the skin. Smaller particles help reduce the white film often associated with mineral-based sunscreens, while maintaining and improving UV protection.
Nanoparticles in cream form do not penetrate intact skin down to living skin cells and are considered safe to use in skincare products. That's why Elm Organics only uses cream formats, not sprays or aerosols.
